Science in Mrs. Candea's Classroom: About Me

Me. I grew up in the country (just outside Sabetha, KS) surrounded by fields and a few cows in the back yard. After graduating from high school I attended Highland Community College on a cheerleading scholarship before heading to Kansas State University to finish my Bachelors Degree in Psychology. As graduation neared I decided to stay in school an additional year to get my teaching license. Once that was complete I moved to Wichita, KS and began teaching Science at Pleasent Valley Middle School.

In my free time I love taking pictures and learning about photograhy. Sometimes I enter them into contests, the three prints below were featured in a Final Friday display along with 47 other local photographers work at the Tangent Lab Jurored Photo contest a couple years back. No, I didn't win--but I was honored to even be featured!

Free Time. I love spending time with my Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers--Mugs and Molly. In fact, the saddest part of coming back to school is leaving these two at home and not getting to spend as much time with them. :( I'm pretty sure they are the cutest dogs in all of Wichita, maybe even the state of Kansas. Think your dog is cutier? You will have to show me if you want me to believe it...bring a picture!
